Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 An 18-year-old student in Scotia-Glenville's GED program was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 5, after a Glenville Police Department investigation for allegedly selling prescription drugs to an undercover officer. The student, Timothy Hughes, enrolled at Scotia-Glenville in May 2009 and has now been removed from the GED program. The undercover investigation involved three incidents between July 2009 and January 2010. One of the undercover incidents allegedly occurred on the property of the Sacandaga School last summer. According to the police department, he was charged with five felonies: two counts of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; two counts of fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and one count of fourth degree criminal sale of a control substance on school grounds. Because the GED program is a self-contained program housed at the high school, the students are not subject to superintendent's hearings. This student's discipline will come from the legal system. Detectives William Gallop and Michael Lamb conducted the investigation for the Glenville Police Department. |
