High School musicians recently competed in the Music Festivals in Washington,
D.C. The High School Symphonic Band, under the direction of Allison Atchley, competed and received a superior rating. The percussion section received an outstanding section award. The High School Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Cheryl Ferraro, competed and received a superior rating and Casey Norton received an outstanding soloist award. We also were awarded the “Instrumental Sweepstakes Award” based on the combined scores of the Symphonic Band and Chamber Orchestra. The High School Choralaires, under the direction of Jessica Crisci, competed and received a superior rating and the soloists received an outstanding section award for the bass and tenor sections. Mary Kate Wilding received an outstanding soloist award for her descant in one of the pieces performed. There were more than 140 students participating from Scotia-Glenville High School. |
