Andrew Giaquinto appointed as Scotia-Glenville
school business manager
The Board of Education, on June 25, named Andrew M. Giaquinto, the current
business official at the Hoosic Valley Central School District in Schaghticoke,
Rensselaer County, as Scotia-Glenville's new school business manager,
effective July 16.
His salary for the 2007-08 school year will be $90,000.
Giaquinto, who lives in Clifton Park, has been Hoosic Valley's business
official since April 2005. Prior to that, he served a business official
internship at Hoosic Valley.

He had previously
served as director of finance for the British American Development Corp.
in Latham from 1999-2004, as a budget consultant for MVP Health Plan in
Schenectady from 1996-99, fiscal consutant for the New York State Credit
League from 1995-96 and as vice president of finance, assistant vice president/controller
and accounting manager from 1987-95 at Jardine Group Services Corp. in
Albany.
"We are very pleased that Mr. Giaquinto will be joining our administrative
staff in this very important position," said Susan Swartz. "His
private sector experience and recent background in school finance is a
wonderful mix of knowledge that will be a strong asset to Scotia-Glenville."
Giaquinto is a Shenendehowa High School graduate. He holds an associate's
degree in accounting from SUNY Cobleskill and bachelor's degrees in accounting
and business administration from Siena College in Loudonville.
In an essay accompanying his application, Giaquinto said he wants to build
on the model at Hoosic Valley, which "reflects strong leadership,
integrity and organization and communication skills."
He succeeds Dorothy Nolie, who served as Scotia-Glenville's business official
for 11 years from May 1996 to May 1 of this year.
