Board of Education President Margaret Smith
seeking re-election on May 15; Joseph Crisafulli not running for a second
term
Two seats are up for election in the May 15 community/budget vote on the
Scotia-Glenville Board of Education.
Margaret Smith is seeking election to a fourth, three-year term. She has
served as president of the Board of Education since July 2004.
Joseph Crisafulli, who served as vice president of the board last year,
is not seeking re-election on May 15. He was first elected in May 2004.
The community on May 15 will also consider the 2007-08 budget.
Each seat carries a three-year term.
Community members interested in seeking election to the board must collect
signatures from at least 55 S-G residents. The petitions are due back
on Monday, April 16, by 5 p.m. Packets with petitions and other information
is available at the Business Office, 382-1222.
Meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
Meetings are more frequent during budget discussions in March and early
April. Executive sessions are often held after the Monday evening meetings.
