| Media Advisory FOR RELEASE: Monday, December 1, 2008 20 Scotia-Glenville Middle School students and staff to go under the razor for Locks of Love on Wednesday, Dec. 3 Middle School Assistant Principal Frank Rosselli to also get a "buzz cut" during an assembly on Dec. 3 Scotia-Glenville Middle School students will see one of their teachers and the assistant principal get a hair cut during an assembly at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the MS auditorium. Grade 6 teacher Becki Ayers and Assistant Principal Frank Rosselli will have their hair cut during the assembly by a student and other staff person. Rosselli's hair will be "buzz cut" after students won a contest and requested that the assistant principal go under the razor. Later Wednesday, between 3-5 p.m. at the Envy Salon on Freeman's Bridge Road, Glenville, 18-20 students will have their very long hair cut – at least 8 inches of hair will be clipped – as part of the Locks of Love and Beautiful Lengths program in which hair is donated to be used as wigs for those with cancer or other medical reasons. The students are part of a "hair donation club" at the school in which students let their hair grow and donate the hair to Locks of Love and Beautiful Lengths. Students and local businesses have also raised money toward the program. "This has been a really good group of students and staff who are excited to donate to a good cause," said Sarah Cardinali, one of the club's advisors. For further information, contact teacher Sarah Cardinali at 382-1263 or Robert Hanlon, Communications, at 386-4343. |
